THANK YOU!

Thank you for all of your support and encouragement while I was out sick. I've almost recovered and am trying really hard to catch up on all administrative duties. I am also still trying to get rest as my body is still trying to recover. Please e-mail me if I have fallen short on something that is in need of immediate attention. Thank you again for your kindness.

Next Friday - September 23rd

This is a very important day. We are going on our first field trip. I have contacted our four volunteers and will be providing detailed information to them this Friday. Friday is also make-ups for pictures. Please let me know ASAP if your child is planning to retake pictures so I can send them prior to the start of school.

This Week

Reading: Students will present their google slide on the character that was assigned to them. Students were given a copy of FLUSH to read. He/She should keep up with the assigned reading. This week we will look at making inferences about the story, identify figurative language, and make a judgement on if the dad in the book should be in jail. We will continue our words from last week. Students will be tested on these words on Friday and will get a new set next week.

Writing: Students will continue to revise their memoirs. Students will make different conclusions, look at precise language ,and add prepositions to their writing.

Math: Students will have an assessment on Wednesday, 9/14. We will be celebrating International Dot Day and will not have a formal math lesson on 9/15. Students will end the quarter with adding and subtracting decimals. Please continue to review multiplying and dividing whole numbers as it will be part of his or her quarterly benchmark.

Social Studies: Students will completed (we already finished social studies for the week) an activity to demonstrate how events around the globe can effect import and export of goods.

Science: Students will work on reviewing the circulatory system and how the hearts works. We will look at how this system works with the respiratory system. Students will create a model of the lungs.
