Summer School 101
Best. Summer. Ever.
The Time IS NOW!!!
Last week you received emails from both Ann White and Bret Range regarding your specific building enrollment counts as well as a challenge to get students enrolled by the April 1st transportation deadline. Many of you already have a plan in place to contact parents and discuss summer school options. If you have not done so already, please have your teachers make contact with any students' family that is reading below grade level and discuss the importance of enrolling in summer school. Additionally, personal contact should be made with qualifying ELP students at your sites that are not enrolled.
Building Fill Reports in eSchool
Many of you have inquired about the percentages of classes that are full/filling at your site for summer school. Ann White referenced a report in eSchool last week in an email to site administrators and I wanted to provide you the path for finding that report.
- Log into eSchool
- Change the current year to 2015-2016 and click the summer school box
- In the left column click on Cognos Reporting
- Click on the eSchoolPLUSreports folder
- Click on Scheduling Reports
- Click on the Summer School folder
- Click on the report Summer School Course Fill Rates by Building
- Enter 2016 for the School Year
- Select your building and click Finish
If you have any issues accessing the report, email and I would be happy to send it your way.
Summer School Teacher Training Opportunities
Summer school curriculum training has been scheduled for May 26 and 27. Teachers will need to attend one, 3 hour training on either of the dates listed above. Additionally, teachers will need to complete a one hour online training module in Canvas. Summer school coordinators will communicate this information directly to teachers in late April.
