Sundays From The Mesa # 34

April 19-22, 2022

Happy Easter and Welcome Back!!!

Hello Alta Mesa Families,

I hope everyone had a restful, relaxing, and fun spring break. Remember we don't have school Monday, we return to school on Tuesday, April 19th.

This is our final push to the end of the year. These last 8-weeks of the school year are going to be busy. We have our CAASP testing, Open House, and all of our end-of-the-year activities.

We will be starting state testing next week on Tuesday, April 26th. Testing will last a total of three weeks including one week for make-ups. Testing will be for all our 3rd-5th grade students. This time is incredibly important to assess how our students are doing academically. We will be doing test preparation throughout this week. It is very important once we start testing for all of our students to get plenty of rest and a healthy breakfast through the testing window.

We are excited to welcome everyone back on Tuesday! It's going to be a great last 8 weeks of school!

Thank You,

Ryan Miller

Preschool Survey

This survey is for parents of students in Preschool who will soon make the transition to kindergarten. Please take a few moments to fill out this survey if you have a child 4 years old or younger and not in kindergarten.

Stuff The Bus Canned Food Drive

We are supporting the "Stuff The Bus" canned food drive organized by the Salvation Army, KRCR, and Fox 20. We have a large bin in our office and are encouraging families who are able to donate canned goods so that the Salvation Army can distribute them to folks in need. Donations will be collected by May 6th.
Rapid Test Sign-Up

If you would like your child to have a rapid test at school, please use this form to sign-up. This is a specific testing request and not a general permission slip. Our staff will look at this form daily to assess which students we need to test.

Big picture

Parent Volunteers and Chaperones

Our district has implemented new volunteer and chaperone requirements that align with the state requirements for schools. If you would like to volunteer or chaperone in a classroom you must provide either 1) proof of vaccination or 2) A negative COVID test within 3-days of the time you plan to be around students. Furthermore, you will need to run your driver's license through our Raptor identification system prior to either being in the classroom or chaperoning the field trip. Classroom volunteers and chaperones are arranged by teachers who coordinate with the school administration. Please call our office if you have any questions about these requirements.
