Information about Bastrop
Bastrop county is located in Central Texas, 30 miles east of the state capital of Austin. Houston lies 120 miles to the east, San Antonio is 90 miles to the southwest, and the Dallas/Fort Worth area is 200 miles to the north. It was a part of Stephen F. Austin's Colony. The Colorado River runs through the county and is a great place for fishing.
Capital of Texas Zoo
This zoo has family fun written all over it! It is home to over 500 rare and beautiful wild animals. It is open 9am-5pm everyday including holidays. For toddlers under the age of 2 it is free admission. For children ages 2-11 it is $7.49 and for teens and adults the price is $9. Come to Bastrop so you can enjoy this wonderful zoo!
