Principal's Message
We are excited to begin the new year with a fresh, renewed focus on learning! As we have reopened school, teachers are providing reminders for students to adhere to the school rules for safety. Our focus on safety is three-pronged: Health safety (wellness measures and mitigation), Emotional Safety (kindness to self & others), and emergency preparedness (safety drills). Please reinforce with your child the importance of these safety measures.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS SAFETY
- Get enough sleep https://www.cdc.gov/sleep/about_sleep/how_much_sleep.html
- Eat a balance diet (include fruits and vegetables) https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/healthy-eating-plate/
- Get some exercise!
- Limit exposure to technology.
- Make sure you are properly wearing your mask and social distancing while at school.
EMOTIONAL SAFETY
- Use kind words and actions toward others and yourself.
- Be positive and focus on the good.
- Encourage your peers.
- Use assertive words and get an adult to help if needed when resolving conflict.
- If something is bothering you, don't keep it to yourself. Speak up to advocate for yourself and if needed, get help.
PREPAREDNESS
- We will continue to practice our school safety drills. If you don't know what to do, ask your teacher.
Thank you for your partnership. Together we can ensure our students have a safe environment where they can focus on learning and growing!

What is Mindfulness? Being mindful is being fully present and focused on where you are and what you are doing.
Why Should I Practice Mindfulness?
· Practicing mindfulness is one way of dealing with stress and anxiety.
· Overthinking everything often results in anxiety but slowing down and practicing mindfulness can help alleviate these feelings of stress.
· Mindfulness improves sleep quality.
· Mindfulness improves concentration.
· Mindfulness enhances the ability to manage and describe emotions.
