Principal's Update for Seniors!
Class of 2020 Graduation Information
Greetings from Mrs. Martinez - Davis
We know that high school graduation is one of the most important moments in every student's life. During this time of social distancing, while making every effort to ensure everyone's health, listening to student's feedback, and still wanting to provide students with a graduation, we have decided to coordinate the class of 2020 graduation in the form of Individual Grad Ceremonies.
We had hoped a graduation in our own high school's stadium would be possible sometime this summer with the entire class. However, given the latest guidance from the Commissioner of Public Health for Monroe County, Dr. Michael Mendoza, we have decided to provide our seniors and their families with the opportunity to have personalized graduation ceremonies, walk the stage in their cap and gowns, and have opportunities for pictures with their families present, one family at a time.
We will be videotaping students as they cross the Brockport High School auditorium's stage. Afterward, all of these clips will be put together with other traditional elements of our BHS graduation, like the Valedictorian and Salutatorian speeches, to make a complete and virtual graduation for our students. We have partnered with 13WHAM and Fox Rochester, to be able to broadcast the entire graduation ceremony, including our traditional speeches on Thursday, June 25, 2020, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Fox Rochester. Also, the graduation ceremony will be streamed on 13WHAM.com and posted to the Class of 2020 archive page on 13WHAM.com for future viewing.
Below you will find information you will need to read carefully to be best prepared for your graduation. Please remember we have never done anything like this before and are trying to help you prepare to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible. So after you read the information below, if you have additional questions, feel free to email your Assistant Principal, Christina Wawrzyniak, or me at melody.davis@bcs1.org. We are so proud of our Class 2020! Go BHS grads!
Be Kind, be proud, be BHS,
Mrs. Martinez- Davis
