Ice Cream or Popsicles?
Popsicles are the healthier choice according to pwshblueprints.com; however, flavors are limited among popsicles and you can only eat it on a stick. Ice Cream can be eaten out of a bowl, in an edible cone, or from a stick, which CCA students said is why they picked it.
Mrs. Nina Wetzel
Mrs. Wetzel grew up in Oak Grove, Missouri. In High School, she played volleyball, and basketball, and was on the track team. She attended the University of Central Missouri for college. She is married to Jack and has two children: Guy and Wynn. She also has a dog and a cat. Here at CCA, she teaches K4-2nd grade P.E. Her favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9- “Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and exercising. She has always looked up to her Dad. He and her mom had set wonderful examples of how to raise a family and lead a Christian lifestyle. –Kennedy Vaughn
Chapel
During camp, participants are given a Bible and shown how to use it. The main job is that the gospel is being shared and shared well. Dylan asked students what the gospel was? Students said, God's word and the story of Jesus. Dylan told us the gospel means the good news, and the good news of the Bible is Jesus. He then went on to tell us about how to share the gospel with others.
1 Corinthians 15:3-5 says "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve." The good news is Christ died for our sins and rose again. If you're sharing the gospel with your friends, you need to make sure they know and understand that.
Romans 3:23 says for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. So, when witnessing to someone, make sure they know that we are all sinners. However, Romans 10:9 says that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Ephesians 2:8-10 tells us for by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
James 2:14-18 says what good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothes and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warmed and filled, without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, You have faith and I have works. So me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
Lastly, Dylan quoted us the Fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness & self-control found in Galatians 5:22-23, and said that we need to be fruit-full. You must read the Bible, pray and be immersed in the light of His love to bear fruit.

Trait of the month: Self Control
The character trait for May is self-control. I asked three students what self-control means to them and here are their answers. Abram, from seventh grade, said that you are showing self-control when you control your attitude, even when it is hard to. Mason, from the ninth grade, said that self-control is regulating yourself when you are tempted to do something. Kade, from the eleventh grade, said that when you control your actions you are practicing self-control. Be sure to implement self-control in your life this month! –Kennedy Vaughn
