The Great Fairy Tale Decoration Challenge
Monarch Heroes is Coming to Gooch!
Monarch Heroes is a great program of the National Wildlife Federation, where they grant funds to selected schools in order to install a Monarch garden. We are thrilled here at Gooch to be part of the program. In North Texas we are fortunate to be on the Monarch migration path from the Northern US to Mexico. Monarch butterflies are under pressure from habitat loss, and their numbers are in decline. We can help support these beautiful butterflies by planting milkweed and other nectar plants to support them on their journey, and to provide nursery habitats. We will be installing the garden with the help of volunteers to the right of the front entrance of the school. Mr. Olavarri is in charge of the project.
