Christmas Gift Giving
“Ask your children two questions this Christmas. First: What do you want to give to others for Christmas? Second: What do you want for Christmas? The first fosters generosity of heart and an outward focus. The second can breed selfishness if not tempered by the first.” -- Author Unknown
JES 4th grade has, for the past two years, tried to foster the spirit of giving in the hearts of our students at Christmas time. We have not had a class gift exchange, but rather, we have focused on giving to others. One year we did a food drive for the Scott County Clearinghouse, another time we did Angel Tree gifts. This year, we would like to focus our giving on some of our own JES students and families. We are asking our 4th grade students and their families, if financially able, to give either a cash donation toward the purchase of socks, pants and a shirt or to purchase one of the items listed below. If possible, we encourage our students to participate in the shopping/buying of the items. The items received and purchased will go to one of our own JES students. We believe the joy of giving is a very important experience for every person to have and we want to give our students an opportunity to have a part in giving to others this year. If you have any questions, as always, please feel free to contact us.
Feeling blessed,
Mrs. Richardson and Mrs. Wooten
