Principal's Post
Crooked Lake Families,
Welcome back from break, and to 2023! We are really looking forward to the learning we have ahead. Recently, we had Wargo Nature Center come and present to our students on Owls. Our students really enjoyed having this engaging program at the building again. Grade levels will get to hear from an expert in the field.
We look forward to seeing you at our Showcase night on January 26 from 4:30 - 6:00 to see some of the learning that students have been doing in different areas. PTO will also be providing a food option. Stay tuned for more details to come.
Our focus will be on perseverance for the month of January with our Character Strong social emotional curriculum. The monthly character focus has really been an overall positive for our students. It connects student experience, and supports learning in ways that will help our students in many ways.
Our fourth grade students will have a Kindness retreat on January 13 with Youth Frontiers. This has been an annual tradition for our students that has brought so much value to our school. Looking forward to it, again this year.
Fifth grade students have started their registration and transition to their middle schools. Please turn in the paperwork or fill out the registration online for AMSA or Oak View depending on which school they will attend. If you have questions please reach out.
We will not have school on January 16. The district is closed.
Take care.

All student meals must meet the federal guidelines for types and amounts of food offered. In addition, they must be appealing to students so they are consumed. A departmental advisory committee consisting of staff from elementary, middle and high schools and a department administrator, plus student focus and advisory groups all contribute to menu development and product choices. Menus are reviewed and adjusted periodically to reflect changing customer tastes and new products. Nutritional information for menu items can be found on the district website.
Parents and guardians of Anoka-Hennepin students can now access even more information online about their student's child nutrition account. To manage your account, click the lock and key icon, login and select the MyStudentInformation icon. Payments may also be made by sending a check directly to your child's school after the start of school. If sending a check to the school, please attach a note to the check "lunch money" or note it in the memo section of the check it their student ID. If you must send cash with your child to school for a payment please send it in an envelope with your child's name and student ID written on the outside. This will help ensure that the money you send will be deposited into the correct account.
Thanks!

Attention Crooked Lake Families! There is an app called FirstView! This app enables families to get real-time information on regular bus routes - in the palm of your hand! Features include email, push, and text notifications of any route changes.
Simply download FirstView from your device's app store. On-screen directions walk first-time users through the easy set-up process. Choose Minnesota and then Anoka-Hennepin from the drop-down menus. After doing so, the app will direct you to A-HConnect.
