This week we read First Day Jitters and talked about ways we can get rid of the jitters when we are nervous about trying something new! This is a fun book about when school starts and "someone" doesn't want to get out of bed on the first day because she is nervous...well, that "someone" ends up being the TEACHER!! She is nervous about meeting her new class at her new school!
At home you can start practicing writing the numbers 1-10. You can also grab a handful of a snack and practice counting one piece at a time! One-to-one correspondence is a skill that can be challenging. Remind them when they count to touch and pull out each item they have counted (so they don't recount it!).
In social studies we started learning all the rules and songs we will need to know to have a successful year! Maybe you will hear one or two of them this week! Ask your child what song they are singing and have them show you what we do! I kind of think they are getting sick of me singing...haha!
Please send in headphones for your child to wear while on the computers or iPads. Most students prefer headphones vs. earbuds. Earbuds don't stay in their little ears.
Oh, the iPads, our favorite!!
Fun with friends!
