Bathroom Vandalism
Currently, we are dealing with a challenge that is prevalent on Social Media and Tik Tok called "Devious Licks." This challenge involves students vandalising and stealing school property and then posting it on social media. Much of the destruction related to this challenge is happening in bathrooms. To prevent additional damage, the administration is taking extra steps to ensure the bathrooms are being monitored on a regular basis. We have also shut down several bathrooms in the school. We assure you there are plenty of bathrooms available for student use along with sinks, soap and hand sanitizer. Students who intentionally cause damage to our school will face disciplinary action. Please remind your students to let an adult know if they see or hear anything happening.
Hawk Parent Group (PTO) Meetings
Hawk Parent Group (PTO) Meetings will be held in the Severance Middle School Library from 4:30-5:30pm. We will live stream the meetings as well. We look forward to seeing you there.

Bri Arledge-Interventionist
Melissa Brening - Interventionist
Melissa has been active in the district since 2008. This is her 6th year with Severance Middle School. Melissa appreciates the Windsor/ Severance community and the SMS team she affectionately refers to as her “people.” Her teaching background includes 1st grade, Personal Wellness, Academic and Social-Emotional Intervention (Middle School), Academic Intervention and English (High School). Melissa loves her time in the classroom and hopes to instill in her students the confidence to be successful in and outside of school. When not teaching, Melissa is spending her time with her family; camping, attending sporting events, watching a good movie or trying her hand at DIY projects.
Ann Donahoo - Counselor
Heather Dwelle - Counselor
Heather has been a middle school counselor for 13 years and this is her 4th year at SMS. She has previously worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer and team leader, a special education paraprofessional, a substitute teacher, a counselor in a residential setting, a school counselor in another school district and as a mental health therapist in community mental health centers. Although she is a native of New Jersey, she has lived in Colorado for over 20 years. Sadly, her Jersey accent is gone, but she is always on the hunt for good pizza and Italian food in Colorado. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and dogs, yoga, traveling, gardening, walking her dogs (and just watching her dogs), cooking, reading, hiking, cross-country skiing, knitting, and dogs. She might love dogs as much as she loves working with adolescents.
Brittany Euresti-Interventionst
Brittany is a 2003 Windsor High School Grad. She has been teaching Special Education for 12 years. Each year she is anxious to work with families, students and community members that make this district one of the best around! She currently coaches volleyball at Windsor High School and enjoys all athletic competition. If not teaching or coaching, she is spending time with her husband and two kids. They enjoy hiking, fishing, swimming, watching and going to sporting events and watching a good movie! The most inspiring part of her job is being able to watch students grow and flourish throughout their time in middle school. Watching them as 6th grade "babies" grow into young adults is so special!
Jesselyn Fernbach - Paraprofessional
This is Jesselyn’s first year as a paraprofessional at SMS. Jesselyn is an Army veteran and has had an in-home childcare business for the last six years. Jesselyn has lived in Severance for nine years with her husband and three daughters. Before that, they were stationed in Hawaii for one year to finish her husband’s Navy tour. Her family has three dogs of their own, and they foster dogs for local organizations such as BBCR and MHCR. Jesselyn enjoys running, gardening, camping with her family, and buying as many indoor plants as possible!
Heidi Holmes-Interventionist
Jeannine Kondratieff
Brandy LeBlanc
Mark Luoma - Psychologist
Rebecca Pease - Paraprofessional
This is Rebecca's second year as a paraprofessional, but this will be her first year in the Weld RE-4 School District as a para at SMS. Previously worked in District Six in Greeley while she was completing her senior year at the University of Northern Colorado, getting her BA in Special Education with a liberal arts emphasis. Affectionately known as "Ms. Becky" or "Ms. Bee" to the students. She enjoys composing music, reading, cooking, baking, knitting, journaling, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
Karen Roth-Paraprofessional
Nancy Walpole-Paraprofessional
This is Nancy’s 7th year at SMS as a para. She previously worked in the medical field as a transcriptionist and in medical billing/coding for 10 years. She has three kids that all attend Severance High School this year. Brandon is a senior this year, Emily is a junior, and Katie is a freshman. She has been married for 19 years to her husband, Douglas, who works as a program manager for an aerospace manufacturing facility in Fort Collins and helps run the family dairy farm in Ault. Outside of school she enjoys cooking and baking, reading, watching crime shows and musicals, taking college classes and getting some “quiet time” any chance she gets.
