Battle of the Books

Want to get your students excited about reading?
Sign up today for the 4th Annual Wilson County Division Battle of the Books. Battle of the Books (BOB) is a reading competition for 5th through 8th grade students. In a nutshell, participants will read from a list of 20 books, form teams of 5, and answer questions based on the books. The top teams from each school with then compete in the Wilson County Championship in May.
What does it take to get my school involved?
The cost of joining BOB is minimal. You will need to purchase copies of each of the 20 books. Additionally, each school must pay a $30 participation fee. The fee is due on or before January 31, 2017. Once the fee has been paid, you will receive an information packet containing the competition rules, suggestions for conducting your school-wide competition, and sample "battle" questions for each of the books. On March 31, 2017, you will receive a complete set of questions to use in your school battles. Winners of your school competition will advance to the Wilson County Championship.
