Blazer Bulletin: Weeks 3 & 4
August 28th - September 8th 2023
The Week Ahead
A Message from Principal Eppler
North Lake Family,
September is almost here which means we made it through the first two weeks of school. Thank you to everyone for making the start of the school year great! We all experienced something new this year... last Wednesday the water main for the City of Irving broke and North Lake College did not have running water nor Air Conditioning. As a result, we quickly had to make other arrangements and Dallas ISD moved our instruction for the day to the old Thomas Edison Middle School Campus in West Dallas. Thank you to everyone for their flexibility, positivity, and commitment to learning no matter what. I am so proud of our students and teachers for carrying on instruction despite the wild circumstances.
If you were not receiving updates please reach out to Ms. Cruz (firstname.lastname@example.org) to ensure your parent/guardian contact information is up to date in our system! You can also join the Remind as well as follow us on Twitter.
This week all students (if they haven't already) should receive their laptop device from Dallas ISD and their North Lake ECHS ID badge. All students should be wearing their ID badges, we will be doing an ID badge check on Friday. This is a required part of our North Lake ECHS uniform.
We anticipate getting uniform shirts within the next 10 days. Once received, we will pass them out to 9-11th graders in their advisory classes.
If you have any questions regarding ID badges, student technology or devices, or anything else logistical or operational, please don't hesitate to reach out to our amazing campus coordinator, Ms. Emily Brokaw (email@example.com).
Let's make it an amazing week. Don't forget, NO SCHOOL next Monday September 4th, 2023 for labor day. Enjoy the long weekend and well deserved rest!
North Lake ECHS

Clear Backpacks: Dallas ISD Policy
Mandatory for 2023 - 2024 School Year
The district will supply one free clear plastic backpack during the first week of school. It is highly recommended that students purchase their own mesh backpack due to durability of the material and the extended usage at our college campus.
A/B Day Schedule
An A/B schedule change has allowed our campus to eliminate more than two weeks of testing while adding back to our instructional calendar 2 full weeks of classroom instruction. In addition to our Associates of Arts and Science degrees, we are now able to offer six new Advanced Placement (AP) classes: AP Calculus AB, AP Microeconomics, AP Human Geography, AP African American Studies, AP German Language and Culture, and AP Environmental Science. We now offer additional Physical Education and electives for students in all grade levels.
Every newsletter, I will post the A and B days for the upcoming month. The full calendar will be linked on our school website. We will also send Remind messages to everyone for the first two weeks of school.
