Principal Message

Parents,

We hope that you had a wonderful break! We look forward to seeing the students return tomorrow.

When we return, we will have flu shots on that first day if you returned an order form by Nov. 11th. On November 28, 2016, if you submitted a form, we will call your student in for the flu shot and return him/her to class. We are scheduled to give the flu shot between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

If you have any questions, you can email our School Nurse, Mrs. Donna Hunsicker BSN, RN, CPN at dhunsi@neisd.net.

Please keep in mind, this flu shot is strictly voluntary.

Thank you,

Tara Bailey

Principal

Greenbacks- Help THE Tigers earn pajama day before the Winter Break! We are only $280 from the first goal of $5000! Please remember Tuscany Heights PTA for your end of year giving. It is 100% tax deductible. You can give online at http://www.tuscanyheightspta.org/

Toy Drive – Please donate toys till December 9th. This is a great way for all of us to synergize and help out the kids at our Partners in PTA school. Please turn in new, unwrapped toys to our collection box in the entryway foyer. Appropriate gifts should be for the elementary school age, for boys or girls. Some examples- Barbies, hot wheels, dolls, trucks, Barbie/doll clothes, sports balls, stuffed animals and board games. We know that anything from the heart will be a wonderful treat for these sweet kids. Thanks so much for helping us with this fun drive!

Trash Free Lunch – Our Tigers will be promoting a better environment through a trash free lunch on Thursday, Dec. 1st. Tray lunches are automatic – but if you bring your lunch, please have recyclable or reusable containers. Our cafeteria, custodians, administrations, and students have worked toward greatly reducing the amount of trash produced in our cafeteria daily. Show them and the earth that you care and let’s go TRASH FREE!!! The winning class from each grade will get extra recess.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY! -Toy Gift Wrapping - It's a Win-Win! You earn community service hours while helping another student! In addition to shopping for toys for our partners at Olmos Elementary, students can earn Community Service hours by wrapping those gifts. Come on Wednesday, December 7 or Friday, December 9 to the PTA Room in the 3rd grade hallway after school from 2:40 pm – 4:00 pm. A parent must be signed up with his/her student(s). Look for a link to volunteer spot for sign up coming soon. You may sign up another student if you have that student’s car dismissal tag. If you would like to donate a roll of "kids" wrapping paper, please bring it to the Front Office or with you to volunteer.

5th Grade - Class T-shirt sales start this Thursday 12/1! ALL ORDERS DUE BY MONDAY 12/12!

Celebrate your 5th grader's final year at Tuscany with a special 5th Grade Class T-shirt! Every student's name will be included on the back of the T-shirt! These shirts will be worn every Wednesday starting in January for WILD WEDNESDAY! The cost of the shirt is $15 and can be ordered online at www.tuscanyheightspta.org/ (pay with credit card/PayPal) or through paper form (cash/check). Parents of 5th graders are encouraged to purchase a shirt as well! T-shirts will be delivered to your child's classroom after Winter Break.

JACKETS and WATER BOTTLES and LUNCH BOXES, oh my!

Parents, with the cooler months upon us our Lost and Found is quickly filling up with students' lost sweaters and jackets. Please remember to label your child's most frequently lost items (water bottles, lunch boxes and jackets) so we can return them to it's rightful owner. All items will be on display in the rotunda on December 6th before and after our next General PTA meeting.

***Please note all unclaimed Lost and Found items will be donated during Christmas break.

Run for the Heights

Some of you caught me with GREEN & BLUE hair recently! We are advertising for a new incentive this year. We are hoping to get 450 Tuscany students registered by January 31st. If we do, we will allow all students registered for the 2017 RFTH to wear their RFTH shirt and hair color on March 3rd, day before run. We are doing this, because the Kids Fun Run this year will be a color run. Most importantly, we want to encourage our young students to participate in a great wellness activity that supports our community school. Thank you for enrolling soon!
