Procedures when you need an Administrator:

Just a reminder: Please use caution when sending an administrator an Instant Message (Skype) during the day when you need immediate attention in your classroom. There are times when administrators are not at their desks and will not be able to help you right away. Please try the admin assistants if you are not getting a response from an administrator, when one is needed.

Something New

Tex Hill NJHS students are honored to support one of our local charities, Arms of Hope.

Arms of Hope is a not-for-profit care organization that assists children and single-mother families in need. Arms of Hope's facilities include Medina Children's Home (60 miles northwest of San Antonio) and Boles Children's Home (40 miles northeast of Dallas). The facilities have over 150 years combined experience in comprehensive residential care programs for children. Arms of Hope also reaches disadvantaged children in their own neighborhoods in various communities.

The donation bin is located in the front of our school just past the crosswalk. Please feel free to donate clothes, shoes and household items. This donation box will be a permanent fixture in front of our school to help children and families for years to come.

NJHS needs your help

NJHS is currently sponsoring a jean drive on campus. If you have any gently used jeans that you would be willing to part with, please throw them in any of the boxes around campus. There should be a box upstairs and downstairs in each hallway. All the jeans will be given to homeless teens in our area. Also, by partnering with Teens for Jeans we are competing with other schools from around the country for a $3,000 grant for our school. Thank you in advance for helping our organization make a difference in teens’ lives.

Technology Tip: Clutter

Most of you have probably noticed a folder in your Outlook or Office 365 mailbox - Clutter. Clutter is an email filtering option available to Office 365 customers. It is similar to an anti-spam filter as it moves less important email, based on your reading habits, into a "Clutter" folder where they can be ignored or reviewed later. Most of the mail going into the Clutter folder should be bulk mail (advertisements) and messages from mailing lists. However, it is possible district email will be placed in Clutter if it is an email you typically do not read. It is recommended that you check the Clutter folder periodically as it may contain legitimate email.

Individuals can choose to disable Clutter if desired. To disable Clutter log into Office 365, choose OWA(Mail), click on the Gear, Options, Automatic Processing, Clutter and select Don't separate items identified as Clutter then click Save.

Great opportunities

The Texas Retired Teachers Foundation (TRTF) is offering fifteen $500 Classroom Assistance Grants for public school teachers.

The deadline to submit applications is March 17, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

NEISD USED BOOK SALE: We need your help

Dear Tex Hill Teachers,

It is that time of the year for Used Book Sale book collection. We are focusing on the reading teachers to collect books in their classrooms but the PTA would like to open it up to all teachers.

We will start collection from February 22-March 11 then again March 28-April 1.

The incentives we are offer this year are:

Teachers- $25 gift card for class that collects the most books.

Students- 1 lollipop for every 2 books brought in and 1 service hour for every 10 books brought in. (We would need the teachers to keep track of books brought in per student)

Class- ice cream party for the class that collects the most books.

We will be delivering boxes to remain in classrooms for collection on Feb. 19th.

If you have any questions please contact me at 940-794-3147 (text is best) or djrkctidwell@gmail.com
