Mahanay is getting a Spark Park!!!
We are so happy to announce that recently our school was awarded a SPARK Park site. The SPARK School Program works with schools and neighborhoods to develop community parks on public school grounds. In the past 30 years, SPARK has built over 200+ community parks throughout the Houston/Harris County area. Each park is unique, with its design based on ideas and needs of the school and surrounding neighborhoods. SPARK Parks are available for public use after the school day (including after-school programs) and on weekends.
Although most of the funding to build a Spark Park comes from the City of Houston and various donors, each school selected is given a goal of raising $5,000+ for their park. We have planned several fundraisers this Spring in hopes of raising $5,000.00+ needed to contribute in the construction of our park.
We are hoping that you can be a big part of this community endeavor and that you can lend your services when it is time to paint benches, plant trees, etc., as your help is ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated.
Also if you know of any businesses that might be willing to donate to this very worthy cause, please let us know.
If you are interested in learning more about the SPARK PARK Program or if you’d like to donate online to our SPARK PARK project go to: http://sparkpark.orgMahanay is creating a cookbook!

The Pennies for Patients program is for elementary that would like to support in the mission to create a world without cancer by conducting a fundraising campaign. By participating in Pennies for Patients, out students learn about donating for a cause and hear stories about kids their own age who have struggled or are struggling with cancer.
