This is Disciplinary Literacy

Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening Within the Discipline

Presented by the IDLL (Inquiry into Disciplinary Literacy and Learning) Network

We now understand the importance of disciplinary literacy; reading, writing, speaking, and thinking as experts do in each discipline from math to social studies to science to English-language arts. In this session, teachers use their professional expertise to adapt strategies and effective instructional practices to better enhance their content area curriculum.
