Fraser Families Uniting in the Love of Reading
Emerson family and staff have been able to celebrate their love of reading together this March is Reading Month. Mystery Readers have been invited into our classroom to share a favorite book, and talk about how reading has impacted their lives. Mystery readers have included Emerson staff members, student family members and Fraser Varsity Football players so far. We hope that you are enjoying a good book with your young readers.

3.14 PI DAY 6TH GRADE CELEBRATION!
This year 6th grade celebrated Pi day on Tuesday, March 14th. The 6th graders were involved in a variety of activities to learn about Pi! Students decorated the Pi symbol, made poems about Pi, read about Pi, learned how to find the circumference and diameter of a circle, and recited as many digits of Pi as they could remember. This years winners included Ha Truong, memorizing 123 digits of Pi! Our runner up Anabelle Stepanchenko memorized 100 digits of Pi. Our other winners include Sophia Trevarrow with a fabulous Pi poem, Kait Marzona with our Pi artist award, and Anabelle Stepanchenko estimating the correct number of gumballs in our circular jar. Overall, the 6th grade did a fantastic job learning about Pi. 3.141592…………

EMERSON STU-CO TOILETRY DRIVE
Our Emerson Stu-Co partnered with FHS's Stu-Co during Charity Week-Monday, March 6th-Friday, March 10th. Our Emerson students and families were so generous! We collected over 100 toiletry & hygiene products and items for The Macomb Foster Closet.
The Macomb Foster Closet is located in Mt. Clemens and provides much needed clothing and essential items (free of charge) to children in foster care. They are always in need of clothing and NEW items like soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorent, Q-tips, lip balm, combs, brushes, new toiletry bags, and lice kits. They also provide additional services throughout the year such as loaded school backpacks, birthday bags, Easter baskets, and holiday gifts.
We cannot thank our Emerson Community enough for being so thoughtful and giving to this amazing "all-volunteer" organization!
Thank you so much!
