Reading, Unpacking, and
Making Great Lesson plans for CC Math Standards grades K-2
Who Should Attend?
Educators of Mathematics from grades K to 2, Curriculum Developers, Math Coaches
About the Presentation:
As teachers begin diving into the Common Core State Standards, they can often find it a bit overwhelming. Students are expected to meet each year's grade-specific standards, retain or further develop skills and understandings mastered in preceding grades and work steadily toward meeting the more general expectations.
Join Cherrie Fulton, Nashua's Title 1 Coordinator, in:
o navigating through the standards;
o tabbing and highlighting important key concepts;
o comparing expectations across grade levels; and
o looking toward the ultimate outcomes for each grade.
We will also explore a template for a well-planned lesson using the Common Core.
Please bring a highlighter, tabs (or post-it notes) and a copy of a lesson plan you have used or plan to in the future.
