Quote #1 & page number 118
"What do you think you are going to gain by moving into a neighboorhood where you just aren't wanted"(Hensberry 118)
Conflict Man vs. Man
"What do you think you are going to gain by moving into a neighborhood where you just aren't wanted" (Hesnberry 118). This shows how Mr. linder, confronts Walter and his family and complains about them moving into an all white neighborhood and tries to get them out of there.
At the end of the play Walter finally realizes how much mama suffered from the death of his dad and he finally lets some sense hi to him and he declines Mr Linders offer, because he attained the American dream of something his dad left behind and move to a better house (Hensberry act 2 scene 3).
Characterization & Quest for the American Dream
Walter:"What i am telling you is that we called you over here to tell you that we are very proud and that this Travis, come here. This is my son,and he makes the sixth generation our family in this country. and we have all thought about your offer."This quote connects to our thesis because Walter told Mr.Linder that his family and him aren't interested in the check and they will be moving into the house.
Benetha:"Thats up to George. If he's ashamed of his heritage. This quote connects to our thesis because Benetha is always fighting George about him being ashamed of where he comes from and that he just wants to fit in.
