Dear Families,
We are re-sending the final Notes From the Office with some additional information, and to welcome our incoming kindergarten familes.
As the year comes to an end, we reflect back upon the beginning of the school year and we are reminded of all that has come and gone. We are also reminded of the strong bond among those in our school community and our resilience through these unprecedented times. Through all of this, we have been impressed by the level of engagement from students, families and staff. In addition, while we would all agree that we miss seeing each other in person, there is much to be said for how technology has provided us an opportunity to stay connected, and we are grateful for that connection.
Along with the sunshine and warm weather, summer brings us time to shift gears from school routines to summer break. Over the next week, our students will wind down this school year by participating in many end of the year traditions such as Move-Along day and the Fond Farewell. These traditions signify the process of change and growth, in which students need to move to the next stage. It is our goal to make the most of these upcoming events...allowing students, families and us as a staff, to move along from this year focusing on the many successful moments. As we enter this final week, we look forward to celebrating our students' completion of a year well done.
Finally, we say goodbye and good luck to our 5th grade class of 2020. We will miss each and every one of you and look forward to hearing about your many future successes!
And...our vurtial open door padlet will remain open throughout the summer.
Sincerely,
Ms. Schecter & Mrs. Lasky

CRD Summer Scene Remote
Dear Framingham Families,
The Office of Community Resource Development has designed a complete kit based “do-it-yourself” Summer program. This program is designed for families to move through at their own pace, with minimal screen time, and is suitable for the whole family.
Each two-week session is based around the contents of a resource kit. Your registration covers the cost of materials and additional services provided during that time. Each kit is designed for one child and contains all of the curriculum and most of the materials you need to do any of the 25+ activities included. Families who register will need to pick up their kit the week prior to the start of the session. Kits cost $50 each.
In addition to the activities included in the kit, there are three optional live guided sessions a week that you can choose to join. Those will occur Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and vary in length from thirty minutes to an hour. Each live session will also be recorded and available to you as a video on demand. In addition our staff is available throughout the week on request for smaller group hangouts, and additional help.
The program runs through July in two-week increments and is designed for rising 1st through 5th Grade students.
Sessions
July 6th to July 17th
July 20th to July 31st
More information on what is in each kit, sample activities, and registration is available on our website at www.fpscrd.org. Financial aid is available.
We are looking forward to a great, albeit different, summer program this year.
Sincerely
The Office of Community Resource Development
Boys & Girls Clubs Summer Program

Performing Arts Center of MetroWest Online Stay-At-Home Theater Experience
This summer PAC is creating an online stay-at-home theater experience where students will become film stars rehearsing and recording their dialogue, music numbers and dancing at home. Then all videos will all be edited together to make a performance.
We will provide electronic equipment to students who do not have access to it. Also, we will provide need-based scholarships so students with economic challenges are able to participate.

Library Books
IF YOU HAVE A DUNNING LIBRARY BOOK AT HOME DO NOT WORRY WE WILL GET IT NEXT YEAR!
Framingham Public Schools' Libraries will not be collecting library books from families until the next school year. FPS Libraries do not charge late fees, so please do not worry about books being late. Please store any FPS Library books in your children's backpacks until then. We look forward to collecting Library books when we re-open the buildings in the fall.
If your children are attending a new FPS school in the fall, books may be returned to their new school library. If your children will not be returning to an FPS school, books may be returned to any FPS school Library."
