Who on earth is Ludwig Van Beethoven?
Ludwig Van Beethoven is a music composer. {This means he writes music.} If you play an instrument {Especially a stringed instrument} You've most likely played or at least heard a piece of Beethoven's music.
Beethoven's Background
Ludwig Van Beethoven was born in 1770, in Bonn. He is the second oldest child of the tenor singer, Johann Van Beethoven. Ludwig was soon turned in to a music prodigy by his father and gave his first piano performance at the age of 8 years old. At 11 years old, he received piano lessons from Christian Gottlob Neefe. By 1795, he had earned a name as a "pianist of great fantasy and verve" but, around the year 1798 Beethoven noticed that he was suffering from a hearing disorder. Sadly, it became worse and worse, until he was left completely deaf. But this did not stop him from writting his music.
Beethoven died from illness in March, 1827. His funeral was held on March 26th.
