Academic Learning Updates

Grewenow's School Report Card Exceeds Expectations

On Tuesday, the 2016-17 Wisconsin DPI School Report Cards were released and we are excited to announce that Grewenow Elementary School scored at a level that Exceeds Expectations. What's even more exciting is that we scored higher in 3 of the 4 categories compared to last year: Student Achievement, Closing Achievement Gaps, & On-Track Readiness.

Grade 2 & 3 Winter Concert

On Wednesday, December 6 our second and third grade students will perform in our winter concert under the direction of our music teacher, Mrs. Jeffson. The performance starts at 6:00PM. Families of Performers: Keep an eye out for more information regarding the report times and attire for the evening.

General School Announcements

Food Drive: Make a Donation

Grewenow Elementary School is collecting food for our local food pantries. If you are able, please consider donating a non-perishable food item. Items can be brought to your teacher’s room. Please have all items in by Wednesday, December 6th. If you would like more information please contact Mrs. Wideman, our school social worker at (262)359-5974.

Kenosha Homeless Care Packages

Grewenow Elementary is collecting the following items to make care packages for the homeless population of Kenosha:


  • Socks (men/women crew style)
  • Winter Scarves
  • Adult Gloves
  • Stocking Caps
  • Rain Ponchos
  • Flashlight with batteries
  • Emergency Foil Blankets
  • Adult Sunglasses
  • Body Wash (travel size)
  • Shaving Cream (travel size)
  • Shampoo/Conditioner (travel size)
  • Baby Powder (travel size)
  • Small Hand Sanitizer (1-2 oz)
  • Wipes (20-30 count)
  • Individual snacks
  • Mini First Aid Kits
  • Mini Manicure Kits
  • Razors
  • Lip Balm

School Fees are Due

If you haven't turned in your student(s) school registration fees yet this year, please turn them in as soon as you are able. The $44 ($22 for K4) fee KUSD charges to elementary students is the "best deal in town" considering its good for 180 days of an amazing education experiences. Payments can be made HERE or if you have any questions, concerns, or would prefer to pay in installments, please call the office at 262-359-6362

Get involved and support our school through GFTC

Grewenow Family & Teacher Community or GFTC (pronounced "Giftsy") meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00PM in the Grewenow School library. All are welcome, membership is open, and if you are interested in learning more or, better yet, getting involved please contact GiFTC.info@gmail.com
