The students had to write an essay about an endangered species in New Jersey and create a piece of artwork to accompany their writing. Shout out to Mrs. Resch for helping out the students with the art portion of the competition.

Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day at Folsom.
Today, began the final LEGO Club session of the school year. Students in Grades K-4 learning to work with others, use their creativity, and practice their engineering skills. LEGO Club is available twice every school year.
Forest Friends explained to the class in 1PS how to share their feelings.
The TED students helped Mrs. Hetzel with some planting of vegetable plants. These were then delivered to the classrooms for the students to take care of between now and the end of the school year. At the end of the school year, the plants will then be relocated and replanted at the Folsom Community Garden.
We had a few helpers plant Strawberries in our Folsom green house!
On Monday, April 3, 2023, the Folsom School District recognized World Autism Day in the early childhood classrooms. Each classroom was provided a story to read and the students colored/decorated a puzzle piece that best represented themselves. Some suggestions given to the students were to draw a picture of themselves, drawings of various things they like, and/or just their favorite color. The puzzle pieces were collected and put together to create one big unified puzzle that will be displayed at the front of the school for all who enter our building to see. The Folsom Educational Foundation provided funds to give each student bubbles. Most individuals can find fun + enjoyment with bubbles – blowing them, playing with bubbles that are in the air, feeling a sense of calm from their pattern/color, etc. The purpose of the day was to promote inclusivity and acceptance while sending the message that although someone may be different from you, we can still have commonalities and enjoy the same things.

Today, Benjamin Ott from Cardboard Arena came to Mrs. Falco's class to give a presentation about Pokemon. He explained the different types of Pokemon, different cards, and even brought in his professional Pokemon game mat for them to look at. Mr. Ott also brought Pokemon coloring pages for the kids to color and they loved it!
