Reading
Students are coming home with book baggies filled with Leveled books they should be able to read themselves. At most students may need you to read the first page so they can recognize a pattern, but if you are reading these books with them, please push them to attempt by themselves--as they are all very capable!
You can prompt them to support their reading by:
- Reviewing their sight words with them before they read
- Use the first sound and look at the picture
- Sound the word out all the way through
Many Students are working on comprehending their books! You can prompt them after their reading by asking factual questions:
- What happened First? Next? Then? Last?
- Where does the story take place? What is the setting?
- Who are the talking characters?
- Does this remind you of anything? (personal connection)

Math
What Time is it?! MATH TIME!
Go Go Math, Go Go Go Math!
- Writing Numbers 0-20
- Represent Number 0-20 using objects
- Count objects 11-20 in different arrays
We have been playing many games in order to practice recognizing the numbers, applying and writing the numbers. We played a dice game, created dot pictures to represent a number, we counted sprinkles on donuts (in different arrays) and played HUDDLE a game involving hide zero cards and tens frames.
