HAWAI`I ADDICTIONS Conference May 30, 31
Karen Miotto, MD, Director of the Alcoholism and Addiction Medicine Service at the UCLA David Geffin School of Medicine will be the featured keynote speaker, and topics will include Prescription Pain Medicine Abuse, Red Flags in Problems with Pain Medication, Emerging Trends in Prescription Use. Panels will include State Narcotics expert and others. The location is The Queen's Conference Center, and early discounted registration is offered through April 25. MEDICAL INNOVATION speaker at JABSOM April 15
John Langell, MD, PhD, MPH, MBA will be speaking on Tuesday, April 15 from 9:00-10:15 a.m. in the Medical Education Building Room 304. Dr. Langell is the Executive Director of the Center for Medical innovation and a minimally invasive gastrointestinal and endocrine surgeon at the University of Utah and Chief of General Surgery at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center. His current academic/research efforts are focused on the translation and commercialization of medical technology. Read more on UH MED NOW.
NETWORKING EVENT April 16 for Women Graduate & Post Doc Students
The session, on April 16 at 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the UH Mānoa Translational Health Science Simulation Center (Webster Hall) will feature three of our heavy hitters! The question and answer session on Professional Career Development will include Mary Boland, Dean of Nursing and Dental Hygiene, Maenette Benham, Dean of the School of Hawaiian Knowledge and Virginia Hinshaw, Chancellor Emeritus and John A.
