Welcome to Week 28
Nathan Adams Elementary School
A Private School Education at a Public School Price!
General Information
For Everyone
1. In honor of World Languages Day March 28th, Nathan Adams will be celebrating the first ever International Languages Week by teaching greeting phrases during morning announcements in a different language each day this week. We have over 20 different nationalities and we want to embrace and celebrate each one! If you want to volunteer to share a good morning greeting over the intercom in your language please let the front office know. We will even be offering Mandarin Chinese enrichment classes in 2015-2016.
2. Coffee With the Principal will be moved to next Friday April 3rd due to the WT White Feeder Pattern Data Meeting.
3. Chess Club has been very successful so far! I was so thrilled to see and hear the students thinking critically and making strategic moves. A special thanks to the International Chess Champion, Akshay Malhotra, and his team from St. Marks who take time to support our Armadillos!

Dual Langauge Update
We are getting ready to roll out the new and improved Dual Language program at the Open House next Saturday March 28th @ 10:30 am in our auditorium. Hope you can make it!
Our new vision:
“Our vision of the Dual Language Program is to develop successful bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural global students who embrace learning and diversity.”
Courtyard Beautification Update
Mark Fisher, new director of the Masonic Lodge visited last Tuesday and is putting a plan and team together during upcoming Saturday School sessions to beautify our courtyards. We are calling this project Landscape for Learning! We will be adding tables, benches, and a stage in the courtyard by the gym as well as updating the second courtyard by the library. Let me know if you are interested in helping out. What a great way to show your Armadillo Spirit! Email me @ drenaud@dallasisd.org (subject line Landscape for Learning).
STEM Update
Last week the Director of Parish Episcopal, Mr. Monaco welcomed Ms. Spears, Ms. Silvio and myself and gave us a guided tour through their Beasley STEM Lab. We were able to talk to the teachers, curriculum director and the students to gather ideas on how to begin building our own program. We have also partnered with the Mr. Joesph Ferrera, UT Dallas Director of Teaching & Learning, Center for STEM Research. He sent his team to provide training to our staff on Feb 20th and we have had multiple teachers attend the Conference for the Advancement of Science Trainings (CAST) throughout this year. Keep you posted!
