FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
I look forward to seeing many of our grandparents and grandfriends this Monday as we celebrate Grandparents' Day! It is a beautiful reminder that our school community reaches far beyond the walls of Fr. Doyle. How blessed we are to have nearly 200 grandparents and grandfriends joining us!
A brief note regarding parking for Grandparents' Day. For those grandparents or grandfriends joining us who may have difficulty walking, there will be parking available to the side of the gym (east side parking lot). There will be signage to guide visitors. Thank you!
As mentioned last week, the school board will be holding an open session for all interested community members from 6:30-7:00pm on Tuesday, October 8th. Please note that open sessions are designed for parents and community members to share specific thoughts, questions, and concerns with the school board. With this in mind, the school board asks that you come prepared with specific discussion topics. If you would like to attend the Open Session, please RSVP at the link here.
Lastly, thank you so much for your support of our annual Walk-a-thon and Fun Run! Our Anython donation pages have already raised nearly $2,000, and we are still two weeks away from our event. This is wonderful! A reminder that there still time to create your Anython profile or collect donations through the print-copy Donations Form attached below.
As always, please take time to review the important Upcoming Dates and Reminders below to ensure you don't miss any exciting and important events including our Celebrate Life! Baby Shower, our Annual Flu Clinic, and Parent-Teacher Conferences!
Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

P.T.O. News
The Auction Committee is very excited about this year’s Silent/Live Auction to be held on March 28, 2020. They would like to invite parents and teachers to join us in making this year’s fundraiser a great success.
Only have a little time to donate? That’s ok! We have a job for you! Have a lot of time to donate, that is ok, too. We have something for you! Have great handwriting, we have a job for you! Are you a take charge kind of person? We have subcommittees that need chairpersons. We are looking for help with small tasks, as well as, large tasks. If you're interested in getting involved, contact Mrs. DiChristofaro.
Interested in receiving information from the PTO about upcoming events? You can register for the PTO Remind Account and receive text messages to your mobile device.

Fundraising & Contest Opportunities
Participate in the FJVD Certificate Program!
This program is a great way to reduce the cost of your tuition while supporting FJVDl!
The Process:
- The school purchases shopping cards from all of your favorite stores
- You purchase the cards from the school, paying face value and spending the same dollars you would have paid to the stores directly
- The school earns a percentage discount offered by participating stores.
For each $50.00 you spend, you get a stamp on your Tuition Discount Card. Fill the entire card and redeem it for a $75.00 tuition credit!
Cards currently available include:
Stop & Shop, Applebee's, Barnes & Noble, Dave's, Dunkin Donuts Panera, Wal-Mart and more!
Stop by the school Monday-Friday 7:45am-8:15am, the Rectory Monday-Friday 1:45-2:15pm, or in the vestibule after the 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30am Sunday Masses to purchase your gift cards!

Don't forget to save your Box Tops!
See the letter below for information on uploading Box Tops to the new Box Top App!
Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up
Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
