Dear Erickson Families,

Welcome Back and Happy New Year! I am looking forward to an awesome 2023 with the Erickson community. Each new year I choose one word to live by and focus on. My 2021 word was GRATITUDE, 2022 word was PATIENCE, and my 2023 word is CHOICE. This word reminds me that I have a choice in my attitude, mood, and reactions. This is a great conversation to have with your children. What would their one word be for the year and how can they continually check to see if they are living true to their one word?

Reminder: Noon (12:00) dismissal is January 13th. Monday, January 16th, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and there is no school.

Winter Weather: Erickson students have outdoor line-up and spend recess outside when the temperature, including WIND CHILL, is 10 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Students may play in the snow during recess if they are properly dressed in winter gear, which includes a winter jacket, snow pants, hat, gloves, and snow boots.

PTO Meeting: Our next PTO meeting is Wednesday, January 11th, 2023 from 5:30-6:30. Come and join us for our monthly meeting. We love to see new faces and new ideas!

Dine Out Night: Our next dine out is at Buona Beef on January 10, 2023. 20% of all sales will be donated to Erickson Elementary PTO. Dine out and support our PTO!

Please take the time to review the Erickson Family Handbook. Each class will meet with Mrs. Frattinger and myself to discuss school rules and procedures. Ask your student how to SOAR in the hallways, in the classroom, on the bus and during recess.

The first full day of school is Thursday August 25th, for students in first - fifth grade. Kindergarten & Preschool students start school on Monday, August 29th. Students may arrive between 8:25-8:40. Classes begin at 8:40.

School Hours:

Grades 1st-5th: 8:40-3:30

Kindergarten AM: 8:40-11:30

Kindergarten PM: 12:40-3:30

Preschool AM: 8:50-11:20

Preschool PM: 12:50-3:20

Lunch Hours:

1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade Lunch: 12:00-12:25

4th-5th Grade Lunch: 12:25-12:50

Dropping off lunches from restaurants (ie- McDonald's, Wendy's, Panera, etc.) as well as using food delivery services to drop off food (ie -GrubHub, Door Dash) is not allowed. Students should bring their lunch in the morning to school each day. Safety is our number one priority and we would like to limit visitors.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures: Click here to learn about arrival and dismissal procedures for the 2022-2023 school year. Families should utilize the side parking lot for pick-up and drop-off. The front parking lot is designated for buses only. Morning arrival is between 8:25am-8:40am. Staff begin to supervise students at 8:25 am. Grades K and 4-5 will enter through the front doors. Grades 1-3 will enter through the side of the building. Students will begin to enter the school at 8:35 and go directly to their classrooms. School beings at 8:40.

If you are interested in ordering another Pillar Shirt, please fill out this PILLAR SHIRT ORDER FORM and send $10 in a marked envelope "PILLAR SHIRT" with your child. A new Pillar Shirt will be delivered to your child once the money is received. Please fill out one form per child.
