STA Open House Nights in January and February

Is your student interested in a Career in Medical, Engineering, or Technology?


Visiting the Summit Tech Academy Open House is a great way to help plan what classes you may need in order to be eligible their Junior or Senior year.

  • Three Open House Nights will be offered in late fall & early spring of the 2015-2016 school year. These two are left:
    • Thursday, January 14th, 2016
    • Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016

Sessions:

  • 6:00-6:30 PM- “Early Planners” Session for Middle Students and their Parents
  • 6:30-8:00 PM- Summit Technology Academy Classroom Open House
  • 6:30-7:00 PM & 7:00-7:30 PM Missouri Innovation Campus Presentation

Waiting List for 'Your World Empowered'

Students in grades 9-12th:
The information below is a great opportunity for students who are interested in a Career in Engineering. The December date filled up quickly, but we have spoken with a representative who mentioned they will be doing another event in April.
If you believe your student would benefit from this event, please contact Christa Fish at christa.fish@raypec.org. She will collect names and then notify you when more information is available.

*Class Enrollment*

Consider now what classes your student would like to take his Junior and Senior year. Make sure that all prerequisites are met in order to be able to do so. Visit with your students Counselor if you have any questions.

Sophomore Year Timeline

The primary focus of your sophomore year should be on taking rigorous courses, keeping your grade point average up, and getting involved in extracurricular activities.

Winter (November-February)

___ Review junior and senior year timelines so you know what to look forward to next year.

___ Successfully pass all of your first semester classes. If there is anything you might have failed or need suggestions on how to study for finals, make an appointment with your counselor to find out suggestions and your options.

___ Review and update your Personal Plan of Study to start planning your junior, and senior year of high school.

___Enroll in rigorous college preparatory courses for junior year or any dual credit classes you may be eligible for.

___ Meet with your counselor during enrollment to discuss your Personal Plan of Study, your post-secondary plans, college and career goals, or things you are uncertain about.

___ Use your resources!!! Learn more about colleges and universities. Visit the Senior Office in the South building or through the website http://rpseniors.weebly.com/ to start learning about financial supports to pay for college.
