GROWTH MINDSET - YOUR BRAIN IS LIKE A MUSCLE
Research in neuroscience has shown that the brain is far more malleable than we ever knew. When children (or adults) are learning something or struggling with a difficult math problem, neural networks grow new connections, strengthen existing ones, and build insulation that speeds transmission of impulses. We can increase this neural growth by trying new things, using good strategies to work through difficult tasks, and asking questions.

Below you will find an interesting graphic with more information about the science behind the brain. I've also included a link to short video read aloud of the book Your Fantastic Elastic Brain. Another option for a family evening? Play a game together so that everyone can exercise their brains.
