Kindergarten Open House
Our Kindergarten Open House will be happening on Thursday, May 23rd from 2:30-3:30. This will be for incoming Kindergarteners for the 2024-2025 school year. Families will have an opportunity to learn more about how to prepare for Kindergarten, meet some of our staff, and tour the building with 5th grade leaders. Please help us spread the word about this event.
Garden Coordinator
Hello Bolton Families!
Our wonderful garden is waking up from winter and could use some love. We are looking for someone who can coordinate garden upkeep parties so students can easily plant seeds and starts this spring. If you're interested, please send an email to let us know! bolton.primary.pta@gmail.com
Reminders about Electronic Devices
Student use of electronic devices at Bolton has been increasing, so I want to remind families about the district's policy regarding their use during the school day.
The policy states that a “personal electronic device” is a device that is capable of electronically communicating, sending, receiving, storing, recording, reproducing and/or displaying information and data. This includes smart watches.
Student cell phones should be off and away during the school day. Students wearing smart watches can use them as a watch during the day, but they should not be sending or receiving messages.
In the event the device becomes a distraction, the student will be reminded about the rule. If it continues to be a distraction, I will ask the student to put the device away and contact their family. If the problem continues, I will keep it in the office and have a guardian pick it up.
If you need to communicate something to your child during the day, please email their teacher or let the office know.

Drop-off and Pick-up
* Please avoid leaving your car idling if you are getting out of your car to drop-off or pick-up your child. We've had Bolton families and neighbors share their concerns about this.
* Outside supervision starts at 7:40 a.m. Please do not leave your child unattended until a staff member is present.
* If you are dropping off your child, please use the drop-off zone. Please do not drop them off on the opposite of the street from the school.
* Please do not park in the drop-off area in the morning. This area for staff to assist students getting out of their cars.

Pedestrian Gates
Bolton is implementing safety changes to be in alignment with recommendations from the District Safety Leadership Team:
- All pedestrian gates will be locked after students arrive (between 7:55-8) and will be unlocked prior to dismissal (around 1:45). There are three along Holmes Street and two behind the school.
- Preschool families will be dropping off and picking up at the main entrance.
Please let me know if you have questions regarding these changes or if you have suggestions for future safety ideas.
Volunteering for Classrooms and Field Trips
