Proud to be IB!
This week when kindergarten students arrived in the cafeteria for lunch, they discovered their tables were not set up. This led to a problem solving discussion about where they were going to eat lunch. They decided the best place to eat was the cafeteria, so students helped set up the tables. This experience was designed to spark interest in the upcoming IB unit on How We Organize Ourselves, and is known as a provocation. During this unit of inquiry, kindergarten students will learn about how people work together in a school, family, and city to enable those communities to function. Over the next several weeks students will be inquiring and researching to learn more about jobs within their school, family, and community. The concepts that will be emphasized during this unit are responsibility, function and connection.
