Theme

Friendship and trust are the most important themes of the play because it is what the play is based on. Friendship comes in when Don John agrees to help Claudio with Hero. Don John sticks to Claudio's side when people start accusing them of being liars and he keeps to his word by baking up Claudio. This shows that there a value of friendship within the play. Even when Claudio trusts Don John to keep his secret about him being shy at Hero and how he asks Don John to help him with her. Don John keeps his promise and strengthens the trust between him and Claudio giving trust as a theme for Much Ado About Nothing.
