Important Information for the Week
Blue incident forms
IEP's
I know you’re sick of hearing about IEP's by now, but we are in the home stretch! A gentle reminder that they all need to be filed in OSR's by next Tuesday, so please get them to me ASAP so that I can sign off before you file them. Also a reminder that the Consultation page needs to be updated to include parent consultations, IEP's reviewed and signed by me, and IEP's sent home on October 15th. If you have any questions, please let me know. If you require support, please see the post from Christine and Keri about booking a time with them. As you can imagine they are in very high demand right now so respecting the other parts of their job, please book a time to meet with either of them if you have questions or need some support.
Walking in the Community
Just a reminder that if you plan on taking a class for a walk in the community, you need to check the pink Information and Communication forms first, to ensure parents have given permission. Most of these forms can be found in OSR's attached to the blue verification forms- if they are not there, it means I am still missing some from your class and have not yet been able to file them.
Fire Drills
Thank you to everyone for your support in completing our second (and surprise) fire drill. There will be at least one more in the next few weeks. Please always remember to close all windows and doors before leaving your room (if there is a real fire, this slows down the fire from moving location to location). Also - please ensure all information for fire drills is in your OT binder plans. We had 5 OT's in during our last drill and only 1 knew what to do.
School Improvement Plan
As we head into the new Scope and Sequence focus on Geometry and Spatial Sense, a reminder that our School Improvement Plan threads number concepts and representing through ALL strands. For our Staff meeting next week, please bring a class list of pre-assessment levels for each student for both Number concepts and Representing based on your pre-assessment data. As a refresh of our PA day - please see the summary document in the GT Edsby Math folder. This summary document also includes a representing rubric that you can use to score your student work. Lisa is still looking for a few teachers to work with her on coaching/co-teaching this strand. You may think it's too busy a time with Progress reports coming up, but it's actually a perfect time to work with a colleague! Please consider working with Lisa - we need to show the board that their investment in coaching time is being used by all of us.
Thirty-One Fundraiser
Colleen Honey has graciously offered to do a Thirty-One fundraiser for our staff. I'll leave some catalogues and order forms in the staff room - if interested please complete an order form and drop it off to me. The fundraiser will continue for the month of October - with 20% of all proceeds coming back to our Staff Morale Committee who is planning some wonderful things this year! This fall Thirty-One has added a great fox logo that can be embroidered on their products - I'd be happy to show you my tote or lunch bag if you'd like to see a sample.
Salad Day
Anyone interested? I'll try once more....If interested, please put your name on a popsicle stick and put it in the pocket of the chart on the staff room board to indicate what you will bring. If we have enough interest, we'll have a Salad day on Friday.
