Principal's Report

NASA research mathematician Katherine Johnson once said, "We will always have STEM with us. Some things will drop out of the public eye and will go away, but there will always be science, engineering, and technology. And there will always, always be mathematics." This week, Oakview families practiced their STEM skills at our school-wide BREAKOUT night and celebrated the hard work of their students at the Science Fair awards. We are very proud of our accomplishments in STEM!

STEM Breakout Night @ Oakview

Over 500 Oakview families attended our STEM BREAKOUT night on Thursday, March 7th! Families worked together to solve STEM related problems and puzzles in order to get the clues to the final puzzle. Spring Garden Saturday!

Our first Garden Saturday is Saturday, March 16 from 9-11 am. We will clean out our garden beds in the vegetable garden, adding new soil, fixing watering tubing, staining the fence, adding seeds, and digging holes and planting potted flowers. If there's time left, we will get started pruning and weeding in the butterfly garden. It's a busy, but exciting time as we get our gardens ready for beautiful flowers again! Contact our STEM lab teacher, Charnley Demeritt, for more information.
