Ring Leader Tidbits

~The countdown is on, and we are 2 weeks away from spring break! Before you know it, STAAR testing will be here, and then the end of the year preparations will begin.

~ Shout out Sunshine Committee for organizing the sweet/salty snacks on Friday! Thanks to everyone for participating!!

~ Benchmark testing is this week, and we want to thank everyone for their flexibility, as we work to adjust the schedule to meet all of the testing needs. I sent a Remind, but just in case you didn't get it, there won't be extended block this week due to testing.

~ We are welcoming Sara Whitehead to our Elkins fam! She started today (Monday) in the office and will be learning the "ropes" this week! Make sure to stop by and introduce yourself and welcome her to Elkins, when you have a free moment!

School Bulletin

~ Notes are in your boxes today about Open House! We have an incentive that will take place for the class who has the MOST visitors during Open House. Nicole's husband has graciously offered up 2 dozen donuts from his shop, Doughboy Donuts, for the class who has the most people come during Open House. Please make sure to keep a sign in sheet and have everyone sign in! Also, we will have Kona Ice here selling snow cones as well! I have emailed the parents, and we will also post the information on our school Facebook and website. Make sure to remind parents as well!

~ Remember that Open House this year will be focused on data and student-led conversations. Students will walk their parents through their data and tell them about their goal setting!

~ The first grade program is this Thursday at 6:00 pm! We are excited to watch the 1st graders perform! Please try and have one representative from your grade level attend.

Elk of the Month Criteria

We are combining Great Expectations character traits as well as areas discussed in Positive Action to guide our Elk of the Month selections. These areas are also the areas that Tammie will be discussing in guidance lessons. They're pretty general, but we think that's what makes you all have some freedom and creativity when selecting the students.

Here is this month's focus:
