Fraser Family
It has been an extremely difficult week for our Fraser Family. It is at times like this when we need to come together and support one another. As we shared earlier, the recent assault that occurred in the City of Fraser did not happen at Fraser Public Schools. However, we do realize that we are still deeply affected by these events. The district is continuing to work cooperatively with the Fraser Department of Public Safety in their investigation. Remember, we need to respect everyone's privacy and the integrity of the investigation.
This tragic and violent incident resulted in the death of one FHS student and injuries to two others. I understand that everyone wants details and answers to the questions they have. Unfortunately, we cannot share those details as this is an ongoing police investigation that involves minors. We have worked cooperatively with the Fraser Police to ensure that Fraser High School is safe for students to return.
I also know that several rumors and information is being shared on social media and among friends of the students involved. It is important not to spread misinformation and to respect the privacy of those involved.
Whatever feelings you are having about the violent act that occurred are natural emotions. You may be angry, sad, confused, anxious or a combination of all of these emotions. That is OK, we have support available for students and staff. There are counselors, social workers, and psychologists available to talk with students individually or in small groups. The resources available are from FHS, CARE of Southeast MI and the Macomb Intermediate School District.
The safety of our students and staff is our utmost concern. Fraser High is a safe environment, we will weather this storm as a Fraser Family and continue to provide these services as long as is needed. If you see something, say something to a trusted adult at FHS we are a community and need to take care of one another.
With Fraser Pride.

Talking to Children about Violence
Updates to FHS Athletic Events
Dear Fraser Families,
With an effort to make this an enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators, we are implementing new guidelines for the remaining home varsity football games.
- FPS Elementary and Middle School students must be chaperoned by a parent or guardian to enter the Football stadium.
- Middle School students should have their student ID with them at the ticket booth.
- Students may not bring in outside food or drinks into the stadium.
- Students may not bring backpacks into the stadium.
- No outside balls or noise makers that are not pre-approved by administration
- Students are expected to sit in the bleachers and not walk around the Stadium or gather in common areas
- Students are not to sit or walk to Visiting Bleachers
- No standing on the fence line of bleachers to avoid obstructing view and exits
- In the event that a student is asked to leave the football game, the parent or the guardian will be asked to take that student home.
- Once students leave the stadium gates, they will not be permitted to re-enter.
As always, the safety of our staff, students and families remains our top priority. These additional measures will support our students in making good choices and create a safe environment for all to enjoy the event.
We encourage our families to take advantage of these athletic events. We can come together with our school community and reconnect with family and friends. Fraser is a special place and our athletic events allow our community to celebrate the rich history and tradition of our schools. These updated safety and support guidelines will be used for all Fraser High School athletic events moving forward.
With Fraser Pride,
Ryan D. Sines, Ed.S.
