April 8th

Mission Statement:

West Alexander Middle School will create a community of lifelong learners by encouraging students to learn, achieve and reach success.

Dear Families,

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Spring Break and is able to spend some time with loved ones! We are in the homestretch for the school year and it will be June 3rd before we know it! I want to congratulate our Football, Cheerleading, Boys Soccer, and Softball teams on their great seasons. Football and Softball were both Conference Champions! Having parents on campus and hearing the cheering lets me know that we are getting closer to normalcy. Our Spring sports teams will start tryouts on Monday, April 12th. Those teams are Baseball, Girls Soccer, and Wrestling. Group A and Group B students will tryout together. Tryouts will begin right after school and will go until 5:00 P.M. Students must have an active physical on file to participate.

On an instructional note, it is extremely important for students to continue completing one Reading lesson and one Math lesson in iReady each week while at home. That, paired with a consistent remote learning schedule, will ensure students are prepared to finish this year strong.

Parents, I look forward to partnering with you to ensure that we finish this year strong!

Teacher of the Month

Congratulations to Mr. Josh Stone for being selected as the March Teacher of the Month!

One of his peers said the following "Mr. Stone maintains a positive attitude everyday. He is always looking for opportunities to encourage students in and beyond his classroom. Students sense his caring attitude and respond respectfully to him. Mr. Stone should "run away" with teacher of the month!!!"
