Volunteers Needed - UIL Competition
We are looking for a few parent volunteers to help out with Tyler ISD's Elementary level UIL competitions. The Elementary UIL event will take place Saturday, March 23rd at Legacy High School. We need 2 volunteers to help run the 3rd grade spelling contest. Please reach out via email to our campus UIL coordinator, Kelsey Sparkman at kelsey.sparkman@tylerisd.org.

Testing & Closed Campus Days
As we approach the testing season, we want to provide you with important information regarding upcoming secured testing sessions for benchmarks and TELPAS.
Upcoming testing dates:
- March 5th: TELPAS 6th grade, 3-5 Math Benchmark, 8th Science Benchmark
- March 6th: TELPAS 7th grade, 8th Social Studies Benchmark, 5th Science Benchmark
- April 16th: STAAR Reading 3rd-8th grade
- April 18th: STAAR Science 5th & 8th grade
- April 23: STAAR Math 3rd-8th grade
- April 25th: STAAR Social Studies 8th grade
Reminders:
- Campus is closed to visitors on these testing dates.
- No lunches or forgotten items are to be dropped off at the front office in order to maintain our hallways clear.
- Students must arrive to school on time.
- Please schedule appointments on non-testing dates
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we strive to create an optimal testing environment for our students.
Campus Visitors
As we continue to have a great and safe school year with our students please remember the following when visiting our campus:
- All visitors must have a government ID in order to enter the building or pick up a student
- Only contacts listed under your student are allowed to have lunch with them
- Visitors must use adult restrooms. Student restrooms are for Birdwell students only.
Lost & Found
Our lost and found is full of coats after this cold season. Please check to see if any of them belong to your students any time you visit the campus. Lost & Found is located outside the cafeteria.
Leader in Me Habit #5- Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood
This month students are learning all about the importance of listening before you speak.
Read Across America Week
Students are allowed to wear jeans on Tuesday and Wednesday if wearing the theme color. All other days, the theme is with uniform clothes.
