Schedule Your Conference Appointments:
To schedule your conference appointments with our dedicated educators, simply visit the Conference Scheduling Google Doc, and click on the specific teacher you would like to schedule a time with.
Student Participation Encouraged:
We strongly encourage you to bring your child to these conferences. Their active involvement is key to ownership of their learning and cultivating a champion mindset. These conferences provide a unique opportunity for students to take charge of their academic achievements with your guidance and support.

First Semester Exams
The First Semester Exams, which traditionally took place after winter break, will now be held from Tuesday, December 19 to Thursday, December 21. This alteration is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the learning experience for our students and streamline our academic schedule.
In the upcoming weeks, you can expect further communication with detailed information about the bell schedule and exam timetable, ensuring everyone is well-prepared for this shift.
National Honor Society Induction - November 2
NHS members are invited to attend our induction ceremony on Thursday, November 2.
Students should plan to arrive starting at 6:15. The yearbook photo will be taken at 6:45 p.m. in the cafeteria.
The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. in the auditorium followed by a dessert reception in the cafeteria.
Wake Up! to School Breakfast
Cedar Springs Public Schools is excited to offer free breakfast and lunch to all students for the 2023-2024 school year thanks to the Michigan Healthy School Meals Program!
Did you know studies have proven that kids who eat breakfast achieve higher academic scores, are more alert in class, visit the school nurse less often, and are better behaved in school? If morning meals are difficult for your family, let the School Breakfast Program help you out!
No advance registration is necessary! All students are welcome every day!

PSAT/NMSQT Test on October 26
On October 26, all Juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT test to prepare for the upcoming change to digital testing in the spring.
Content on the PSAT/NMSQT is very similar to the SAT, with Reading, Writing, and Math sections.
To prepare, full-length adaptive digital PSAT/NMSQT practice is available on the Bluebook™ app. More resources are available at the Official Digital SAT Prep on Khan Academy.
Juniors Under the age of 18- Testing Consent Needed
For Juniors- Students who are under the age of eighteen and are participating in one of the Michigan SAT Suite of Assessments on a school day – SAT® with Essay, PSAT/NMSQT®, or PSAT™10 – will need parental consent to provide College Board with optional student information, opt into the BigFuture School™ mobile application, and opt into Connections. BigFuture School allows students to receive their test scores on their mobile devices. Connections allow students to interact with colleges and universities to support planning for postsecondary success; through Connections, students can connect with colleges, universities, scholarship organizations, and other educational organizations without disclosing their personal information.
This needs to be signed and returned to Student Services at the High School before testing.

Junior and Senior Parent Night
Wednesday, Oct 25 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the auditorium
Juniors, Seniors, and their parents are invited to attend this critical event filled with important senior dates, college and career preparation steps, overview of the financial aid process. Becky Powell from GRCC’s Financial Aid department will guide families through the process of filing for/receiving financial aid.
Apply Yourself! Hours
Mondays and Wednesdays in October (all hours except the 4th hour)
Seniors will get a pass from their teacher to come to the garage off the cafeteria to work on preparation for their next steps after high school. (College applications, sending transcripts/scores, applying for jobs, completing resumes, etc.). Counselors will be available for support.
