A message from our principal
Thanks to all students, parents, faculty and staff for making this past HFCS hospitality at the HFCC Masses a success.
In today’s Gospel, the teachers of the law were afraid of Christ's power. Through his parable, Christ let the scribes - and us - know that to blaspheme God by rejecting the work of the Holy Spirit is to commit an unforgivable grievance. Most of us would say that we don't reject God, or Christ, or the Holy Spirit in our lives. And yet, sometimes we may not accept God’s work in our lives.
There are times when I think I can handle all the events, issues and concerns in my life and I don’t need God. These are the times that I struggle to see and trust the work of God revealed in my life. My humanity gets in the way. I have to remember - God is with me and I am with God. Christ assured me of that gift and I am ever grateful for it. Likewise, God is with you, today and every day. I pray that you believe it and feel it, too. Amen.
A HUGE thanks to our Catholic Identity Committee for their work on the new mission statement for Holy Family Catholic School. Father Jeff has approved our new statement:
Teaching the Way of Jesus Christ,
Holy Family Catholic School empowers students to become
joyful disciples, lifelong learners, and compassionate leaders.
Peace in Christ,
Dr. John Shreve

2017-2018 – PREKINDERGARTEN SCHEDULES
Looking forward to the 2017-2018 school year, HFCS will continue to offer a creative and enriched learning experience through its Pre-kindergarten.
We are making some changes. PK3 will only be in the morning only (8-11 a.m.), five days per week. Additionally, PK4 will have both a morning session (8-11 a.m.) and afternoon session (12-3 p.m.). This allows for more concentrated instruction, flexibility for families, and more opportunities for PK4 classes (currently, there is a waiting list).
Current PK3 students will have the first choice for either morning or afternoon (PK4 classes). The tuition for 2017-2018 will reflect the change in the Prekindergarten program. The tuition amount will be approved this week by Father Jeff. The amounts for all of the grade levels will be in the 2017-2018 enrollment package.
There will be extension of the Pre K day (Extended Day). We will continue to offer Extended Day (before school and after school) from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Extended Care cost is $4.00 per hour.
AM Extended Care – 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for PK4 afternoon students.
PM Extended Care – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for PK4 and PK3 morning students.

Volunteer opportunities
We need your photos! Please send any photos to Trisha Klement.
Altar Cloth Sewing. Each classroom has an altar with various religious articles displayed. Altar cloths in the colors of the liturgical year are included, and we need red and white cloths sewn. We are in need of red and white, should you have any extra you could donate. Please contact Trisha Klement to donate or volunteer. If you are in need of a sewing machine, there is one available to borrow.
Copy Room Assistants. The staff members will fill out a print request and attach the originals that need to be copied. The volunteer(s) will make their copies and place the papers in the staff member's designated tray. We are looking for volunteers for any days Monday - Friday, and hoping for a morning and an afternoon volunteer. Training on the copy machine will be provided.
HSA Secretary. Attend monthly meetings, take notes and type them up and write any thank you notes for the association.
Lunchroom Monitors. Assist during lunch from 11 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. We need help on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday and every other Friday.
