BARBER BULLETIN
Week of Nov 5-9 Creating Joyful Leaders and Learners
Culture Matters!
Just as we seek your voice on other areas, I am asking for your voice again. As you know, each Spring the state department sends out a climate survey. As a result, many principals in Richland Two, including myself, have taken a courageous step in recent years to administer benchmark surveys, or pulse-checks, twice a year to gauge a better sense of how the staff is feeling during the school year.
Thank you for taking this anonymous survey, honestly, so that I can continue to serve you well. The survey will be sent to you via email on Monday morning via a district survey site.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR SOCIAL WORKER:
As the holiday season approaches, I am working on providing resources to some of our Pontiac families in their efforts to give their children a wonderful holiday experience -- for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have a couple churches that are collaborating with us in this. Also, please let me know if you or your team would like to "adopt" a family -- this will be a huge help.
Since you know your students best, I would like your help in identifying families that might benefit from this help. Please send me an email at lroth@richland2.org with the names of your students that come to mind by WEDNESDAY of this week. I can 't promise assistance for everyone, but I will do my best to make sure everyone gets help. I will reach out to families respectfully and without telling them that their child's teacher referred them, so please know that your recommendations will be confidential.
My contact information and schedule are listed below. Thanks in advance for your help!

Looking for lunch buddies!
What is a Lunch Buddy?
A lunch buddy is a caring adult who has 20 minutes lunchtime at least twice a month to devote to a student at our school. Over time, Lunch Buddies build a relationship with their mentee where they provide guidance, support, encouragement, and friendship.

Nurse Larck had a baby!
She certainly leaves big shoes to fill!
As she is out for the next 12 weeks, please join me in welcoming several people to fill in for Nurse Larck in our health room. Thank you to our district lead nurse, for arranging this coverage:
Milissa will be with us on Mondays and Tuesdays. Renee, who many of you may remember, will be with us on Thursdays.
Kathy Waldrep will be with us on Wednesdays and some Fridays. SHe is a retired Richland Two nurse, retiring in June after 25 years.
Please let me know if you notice a need in the health room as we make this transition.
