Nordic News Update

Week of Dec 7

This week

I keep using wintery backgrounds in hopes it will influence our current weather patterns!

Practice- We will mainly be on campus this week but will be sending groups up to Sleepy Hollow to ski on "the strip". Sleepy Hollow currently has 100m of snow that can hold 15-20 skiers at a time- its a good workout going up the hill over and over again! We have to share "the strip" with others (mainly St. Mike's and our middle school program). Please see the practice schedule on the website for weekly training and when its your turn to go skiing! (or click here)

Race! Our first race is on Saturday, Dec 12 and as of right now its on! The race organizers (SBHS and BHS, along with Craftsbury Outdoor Center) have limited the number of racers to 26 total (girls and boys) from each team. BUT we can go up early with the whole team to ski and practice. Our plan right now (could change with the weather) is to leave from CVU on the bus at 7am as planned. Everyone will ski from 8:30 to 11 when the race starts. We will all stay to watch and cheer on our racers and then take the bus back home. Specific race information can be found on the website here.

Uniforms will be handed out on Thursday or Friday of this week. Everyone will get a uniform. Uniforms are yours to use for the season and signed out by number- you are expected to return the same uniform at the end of the season.

We did it! The auction has been successful! Now we need to handout items and collect payment. We have signups on volunteer spot for Monday and Tuesday from 3:30 to 6:30 here. THANK YOU to everyone for your help!
