MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL OPHUS
Dear Fairview Families,
Thank you to all families who were able to attend the 5th grade musical this week at Fairview! Our 5th graders did an AMAZING job performing the musical, Leap Day. I was truly impressed with their courage, enthusiasm, and incredible talent! It is always so inspiring for me to watch our students come together and collaboratively create an outstanding performance. For 5th grade parents, I hope you were able to celebrate this accomplishment with your child this week. In reflecting on this week, I am also very grateful for our staff. Mrs. Happ did a tremendous job working with our students to pull off such a great show and has given countless hours beyond the typical school day in preparation for this week. We are so fortunate to have her at Fairview! The fifth grade teachers and several other staff volunteers also played an integral role in the production of the show, which is a good model for our students on how to work together in support of our community. I’m so thankful that we were able to hold these performances again this year, and I hope you enjoyed them!
Spring is always a busy time for the Fairview staff as we are continuing to work with our current students to help them learn and grow and start looking forward to and planning for next school year as well. As we draw closer to the end of the school year, teachers will be creating class lists for next school year and then I will be making final teacher assignments. If you would like to provide input into the process, please fill out this form. Please do not feel obligated to fill out this form, but if you are interested, it is due no later than Friday, April 29th. While no guarantees can be made related to your feedback, I will read it over and consider it when making final class placement decisions. DO NOT REQUEST SPECIFIC TEACHERS ON THIS FORM. Such requests will not be honored.
Looking forward, this is just a reminder that tomorrow is a non-attendance day. Monday is a full day district institute with no student attendance. We look forward to seeing students again on Tuesday. Thank you for taking the time to read through today’s newsletter. Have a wonderful weekend
Sincerely,
Dan Ophus
Fairview Principal
