ZEUS

THE MOST SIGNIFICANT GOD OF ALL

THESIS STATEMENT

In Joel Skidmore’s Mythweb.com, Zeus appears to be the most significant figure in Greek mythology and reveals that he is powerful and infuriated.

SUMMARIZE

His father, Cronus would swallow all his kids as soon as they were born, but when Zeus was born, his mother Rhea wrapped a stone in cloth pretending it was him. When Zeus found out what Cronus did to all his brothers and sisters he was infuriated and defeated him by making him throw up his kids.

QUOTE

The story states,“When he had grown up, Zeus caused Cronus to vomit up his sisters and brothers, and these gods joined him in fighting to wrest control of the universe from the Titans and Cronus, their king”.

EXPLANATION

This quote proves how powerful and infuriated Zeus was because he was able to overthrow his father who was the ruler of the universe in a very furious way and made him throw up all his siblings. This made him appear very supreme because he was the only child not to get eaten and no one else was ever able to overthrow Cronus, but him.

CONCLUSION

Although Cronus was the supreme ruler, Zeus was powerful enough to overthrow him and defeat him in order to save his sisters and brothers and took over becoming the new supreme ruler.
