Wolf Creek Elementary is transforming students into globally minded, accountable, lifelong learners and champions who display strong positive leadership skills.

From The Principal's Desk

Happy Sunday! Thanks for another great week!

Students are wrapping up the various diagnostic assessments to start the school year. As the various assessment windows end, teachers will include the students results on the next Progress Reports. These results along with end of last year's data will help teachers determine reading and math instructional levels, small group instruction and designated EIP support.

We are excited about our September 14th Community Day Event! The event will be held from 10:00 - 2:00 PM. We hope to see you there!

Coming Soon: Annual Title 1 Meeting and Curriculum Night 5:30 PM August 17th

Reminder: During their August 22 School Board meeting, the Board of Education approved a change to the 2019-2020 school calendar. March 24, originally scheduled as a regular school day, is now a Student Holiday and Teacher Workday due to the presidential primary (Super Tuesday) which will be held on the same day.Students will not report to school on

March 24th.

We are a uniform school. Students looked great in their uniforms last week. Let's keep it up! We are encouraging our 4th and 5th graders to LEAD the way. Our 5th graders are the "seniors" in the building and we want them to be positive role models for the student body.

A few reminders:

  • Breakfast ends at 7:35, cafeteria doors are closed at that time
  • Tardies begin at 7:41 AM, all students need a tardy pass to enter into class
  • All visitors are required to sign in at the front desk when visiting the building
  • Instruction begins at 7:41 AM, parents are asked to exit the building at this time
  • All families are encouraged to complete the lunch application, lunch status rolls over from the previous school year for the first 30 days, on the 31st day of school charges will apply to all students
  • Sign agendas and other paperwork nightly
  • Sign up for Class Dojo

We are a Leader In Me school! Staff, students and stakeholders will be engaging in the principles of the 7 Habits of successful people this year. The first habit is Be Proactive! See the 7 Habits Tree picture below. For more information see: http://www.theleaderinme.org/ . We are excited about teaching 21st century leadership and life skills to students, staff and stakeholders and creating a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Stay tuned!

As you know, we also support our PBIS initiative with our PACK principles! They tie in seamlessly with the 7 Habits. Every day students will recite the Wolf PACK Creed. See the parent and student handbook online and in the front of your child's agenda. Help us by supporting them in learning the Wolf Pack Creed by hard! We are looking for the 1st class at each grade that learns the creed and can recite by hard.

School Communication Tools

  • Agendas - Each child has a school issued agenda book. We use this as a home-school communication tool. Teachers should be communicating regarding school updates, behavior and homework. Please sign the agenda each night. Agendas are treated as textbooks. Replacement cost is $5.00 if lost.

  • Class Dojo - Each teacher will be communicating through Class Dojo this year. If you haven't signed up for your child's teacher account, please inquire with your child's teacher. Class Dojo is a communication app for the classroom. It connects teachers, parents, and students who use it to share photos, videos, and messages through the school day. They use ClassDojo to work together as a team, share in the classroom experience, and bring big ideas to life in their classrooms and homes.

  • Newsletters, websites, and other technology tools - Each grade level will send home, at minimum, monthly newsletters to inform parents of classroom assignments, projects, and class/school events. Some teachers will also use other creative technology tools to stay in touch with parents.

  • Infinite campus is our new student information system. Parents are able to access information regarding grades, attendance , discipline, etc. Teachers are required to enter final grades in the system as they are assigned. All parents with an active email address should have received an email from Fulton County Schools. with your access code. Please check your spam folder if you did not receive your email. Our school Data Clerk and classroom teachers can assist parents with the access codes for their children. See here for additional information. https://www.fultonschools.org/site/default.aspx?PageType=3&DomainID=4&ModuleInstanceID=7115&ViewID=6446EE88-D30C-497E-9316-3F8874B3E108&RenderLoc=0&FlexDataID=23918&PageID=1

For trouble logging on to Infinite Campus, please contact the parent call center: campusparent@fultonschools.org.

Safety First!

Thanks for your support during the first few weeks of school! Thanks for working with us to ensure safety for the students. Remember to bring in your state ID or license when visiting the building. All visitors will be asked to sign at the front desk. Instruction begins at 7:40 each day. Parents are asked to say their goodbyes and exit timely so that we may begin the instructional day.

We still need your patience and support as we execute the morning drop off process. The cafeteria doors close at 7:35 AM each morning. Breakfast ends at that time. Students are tardy at 7:41 AM. Parents are asked to sign their children in and get a tardy pass prior to reporting to class. Parents who wish to walk their child to class must also sign in at the front desk.

Please help us by using the car rider loop in the front of the building for all student drop-offs in the mornings. The car rider loop moves fast but it does require some wait time and patience. This is the safest area for student drop offs. We have assigned staff to support students as they get out of cars. The bus ramp in the back is reserved for buses only. If parents are using the parking lot near the bus ramp area for parking, they are asked to park their vehicles and escort their child into the building. Students should not be dropped off and allowed to run across the bus ramp to enter the building. We want students to be safe. We had a few cars moving fairly fast in this area. This is a safety concern. Remember, the doors open at 7:10 AM for student arrival. Thanks in advance for your support. If we have parents that can volunteer in the bus ramp area, please let us know. We could use the extra hands and eyes to ensure safety for the students.

Thanks for your support!
