Year End Activities in Room #22

How are we wrapping up the year?

Still Learning Going On

In writing we've been working on poetry and a memory book. So, students have been reliving parts of first grade and remembering what they've done through this year. Some of them are rather funny, you'll get a chance to see them when they come home this week.

We are still spending much of our time reading, though they've gotten weary of listening to my reading I'm afraid. So, we've introduced them to the Screen Actors Guild website, where they can listen to actors read books rather than me. They see to enjoy them.

Wednesday, June 3rd Year Books

Wednesday is our first real day of fun. If your student ordered a year book and bought it home, please have them bring it to school on Wednesday. They will have an opportunity to have their friends sign them that morning. If they didn't order one and they want to get autographs of another sort, that's fine, they can do this at that time as well.

Wednesday, Movie Day

Your students have been working very hard these last few weeks to keep the conduct marks at bay. Anyone who has 1 or less at the end of the last 4 weeks has gotten a ticket to part of a movie day. There are "bring a stuffed animal", "bring special snack", "bring a special drink", "stinky feet (aka no shooes)", and finally if they maintain this same progress this week, they'll be treated to a movie during class on Wednesday.

Thursday, Year End Party

Thursday wll be our last day of classes. So, we will be having a small celebration that morning from 10:30 - 11:15. Parents are welcome to attend, just remember to bring your license to be admitted back into the classrooms. I don't know what PTO has planned for this year. But, in the past it has included Goldfish, a cookie and a Capri Sun. After the party is over you are welcome to take your child home, they will have already made the attendance cut off for the day. Report cards will sent home with students as they leave.
