Hello, Thomas Families!

Building News

Awesome Citizens

Thomas Tigers are demonstrating tremendous citizenship! Staff continue to look for students exhibiting sensational citizenship traits. Students are given tickets which are put into a weekly drawing per grade level. We are very proud of our AWESOME CITIZENS!

Character Strong

Thomas students are studying the character trait RESPONSIBILITY during the month of May. Responsibility means to take action and understand how our choices affect others and the world.

Here are a few conversation starters and questions to share:

-Who is the most responsible person you know? What makes them responsible?

-What are some things that might get in the way of showing responsibility?

-What could help us practice responsibility?

Thomas May Day

Many thanks to the students of Thomas Elementary for performing in a successful and entertaining May Day!. Mrs. Arcaro, our GTE Music Teacher, took many hours in the preparation of this event. Thank you, Mrs. Arcaro! What a joy to see the children having fun! Additionally, it was such a pleasure having families back in the building!

Field Trip Fun!

What a terrific feeling it is to be able to have students take field trips again! This year, thanks to our Thomas P.T.O. we have been grateful for the field trip financial support as well! We have been able to send our kiddos on these trips without charging families for admission thanks to our P.T.O.

WOW, GTE PTO, THANK YOU!

Kindergarteners took a trip to the back playground to have an up close experience with farm animals. First and third grade visited the zoo to explore animals and their habitats. Second grade explored COSI. Fourth grade journeyed to the Ohio Historical Connection. Fifth grade was able to attend a Columbus Clippers game. In this edition and next edition of the newsletters, we will share pictures of these fabulous days. Thank you, teachers, for designing these learning experiences to support specific curriculum and orchestrating the events of each day! Our appreciation extends to all family members who were able to attend!

Second Grade Meteorologists

Andrew Kozak from Spectrum News 1 visited the second graders at Thomas Elementary as they study the weather.

Thomas P.T.O. Skate Zone Party a Success!

Thank you, Thomas Families, for attending this fun-filled event! Many thanks to P.T.O. for scheduling these activities where families can gather and connect. Long-lasting friendships have been formed by students and adults during the time we spend together. Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Axelband also report it is a pleasure to visit with students and their families outside of school hours. We are very fortunate to have such thoughtful and kind parents/guardians who value this social and active time!! Thank you!
